I can guarantee that as long as you DON’T give pre-arrangements to a funeral home, you are doing something right!

This year, at Rachael West Designs, we are currently accepting Valentine pre-orders for beautiful fresh cut flowers until February 5th……a much better gift, that funeral home arrangements!!  All Valentine pre-orders will be entered into a drawing for a beautiful “Masquerade” Crystal Vase to be drawn on Valentines Day.

When you walk into the room of a reception hall, that is setup for your special day, one of  the first details that will catch your eye is the beautiful floral centerpieces placed throughout the room awaiting your arrival. There are so many different ways that centerpieces can be designed allowing for every wedding to have its own unique touch.

A floral centerpiece is something that should be elegant and beautiful. The guests should have the ability to see past the centerpiece so that conversation between each other isn’t obstructed. A good wedding or event florist will be able to tell you the perfect height for your centerpieces for the flowers you have chosen.

Most people are worried about the price for floral centerpieces but there are many cost effective ways that can be used to make the overall price of a wedding less expensive. Many brides are looking for options to double up designs like using their toss bouquet in a vase at a sign in table until time to toss it. Other brides are going with minimalistic designs that still give off a lot of beauty but in a simple and modern way.  Either way, if you are on a tight budget, a good florist will always have ideas and suggestions to help to create your perfect wedding within your budget.

The choice of flowers is pretty much endless with possibilities. Having a knowledge of what flowers are in season can really help . By knowing what flowers are in season there is the ability to avoid considering flowers that are out of season and may have a larger expense, but if there is a flower that you just must have….often times, with some careful planning and notice, a florist can have them brought in.

Just remember, whatever your fairy-tale dream is, keep an open communication line with your florist to ensure the perfect wedding.

When you are trying to think of unique arrangements for your flower arrangements you may want to consider utilizing different shapes and sizes of vases. With the huge variety of vase options now you could easily make some drastic changes to your arrangements by simply choosing a different vase.

In the below image you will see that I utilized square and tall rectangle vases placing flowers floating on water. Even though they were quite simplistic the overall visual appeal came off to be very elegant. By placing just one flower type within these vases it didn’t distract the eye from the many other elements surrounding.

By making simple changes to the vase choices you can make a drastic change to your usual flower arrangement ideas. You can get the same response from these arrangements as you would others. Most people do not expect to see such arrangements which allows for even more amazement with your arrangements.
