Hickory Classes

Each year about this time I get the desire to just CREATE something!! And yes, I create all year long with flowers, but spring and summer time I like to expand a little.

So, beginning in the next few weeks we will be offering craft classes for both children and also combined classes for parent (or grandparent!!) and child. We will be making all kinds of flower garden items like birdhouses, flower pot picks, and of course, we will use flowers! We might get messy using dirt, paint, and glue, and we will make sure our projects are “boy” friendly too!!

Class sizes will be small and pricing will be based per project. Pre-registration is required and classes may be canceled if not enough interest.

DADS: interested in an easy Mother’s Day gift for your children to give to their mother??

Pre-Register for our MAY 8th Children’s Craft Class. Your child will go home with a hand-made Mother’s Day craft and YOU will go home with a wrapped bouquet of spring flowers wrapped in cellophane and a bow.

Mother’s Day Craft Class, May 8th, 10 am. Cost $14/child/craft only OR $26 with wrapped bouquet.

Creating an arrangement in a clear glass container? Add seltzer water instead of your plain water. All the little bubbles cling to the blossoms and stems creating a really fun effect that is subtle, but creates one more layer of interest.

Dance Orders, Hickory High

I have had countless brides try to describe to me the perfect color they are searching for….and I can only begin to tell you how many times that most amazing shade of purple is still really just purple! No matter what you call it, it’s purple!!

So, I always share with my brides this tip: Bring me a sample….it can be a purple crayon, a purple piece of paper, ribbon, or a paint chip from a home improvement store. Whatever it is, find something in that color and we will do our very best to make sure we match it.

Often times we have brides call and are unsure what they need to bring to their wedding flower consultation. Here is a list to hep get you organized and help insure your wedding consultation be productive. Remember, it is always better to bring too much than not enough!

~Brides Name, phone number, and email

~Grooms Name, phone number, and email

~Date/time of events.

~Address and directions to event locations.

~Number participating in wedding party (how many mothers? fathers? groomsmen? bridesmaids? grandparents?)

~Numbers of pews in church

~Numbers of arrangements needed at ceremony site

~Numbers of tables for centerpieces

~Numbers of misc. arrangements for sign in tables, entry, bathroom counters, bar

The flowers were absolutely beautiful! Exactly what i’d envisioned for our wedding; romantic and bright but with a quirky edge. I couldn’t have asked for more. Everyone on our end also commented that the flowers as well as decorations were gorgeous; and many said that even with the rain our wedding was very “us”. So at the very least I know it was memorable!
